Based entirely on the license plates and the campaign posters for Gabriel Piemonte, we can say with certainty that these two photos which we came across on the Duke University Libraries Digital Collections come from Boston in one of two years: 1961 or 1965. In both years Piemonte ran for city councilor and in both years the Massachusetts license plates had white lettering on a darker base with “MASS” preceding the year. Your job, dear readers, is to scan the photos, identify the cars, and tell us which year they date to. What do you see here?
